The project is located in the northern area of Bucharest, in a brand new office building with an astonishing architecture. The constraints and regulations of the existing space were the highest challenge of this project. The project briefing was to create a comfortable and enjoyable work environment in a space with very little sunlight. In order to achieve this goal, we submitted a layout plan where the entire open space worstations were placed as close to natural light as possible, while the meeting and the back office areas were mainly treated with artificial light. While using a concrete floor in order to visually enlarge the space, we tried to bring a warmth feeling by using coloured, sophisticated and tactile vertical finishes. The basic colour scheme consists of black and white to further enhance the industrial aesthetics, while pops of colour, incorporated into furniture and space dividers, refine the design. We suggested a dark grey open ceiling treatment in order to highlight the building innner core and keep a unitary concept. The reception area requirements lead to designing a divided area, with a floating island meeting room cabin serving as a buffer area between the reception and the open space workstations. Refined informal meeting areas were added in the space planning and the managers’ offices were treated with luxury finishes and furniture, such as massive wood, leather and custom made furniture.
